We are proud and honored to invite your participation in The Al Humphrey Memorial Ride, a 25 kilometre ride through beautiful York Regional Forests, annually on the Sunday of the August long weekend. |
Established in memory of Allan Stewart Humphrey (October 10, 1932 - February 2, 2006,) or as he was known to most "Al" of Al's Tack Shop, the ride provides an opportunity for the horse community at large to make a positive contribution to the lives of others by raising funds for deserving non-profit organizations. Recipient charities and/or organizations will be named on an annual basis. |
The success of each ride is dependant on support from sponsors, volunteers, horses and riders. All ride costs will be covered by sponsors, rider entry fees, funds raised during our ride Round-up and Ride Merchandise sales. All pledges raised by the riders will be donated directly to the beneficiary(s) of the ride. In whatever capacity you are able to participate, we welcome you. |
The heart and soul of the Al Humphrey Memorial Ride is its participants. The outpouring of support for this event contiues to exceed our expectations every year. |
During Al's lifetime, many rides for different non-profit organizations and charities benefited from the support and venue of Al's Tack Shop. Over a period of decades, hundreds of thousands of dollars and increased awareness of ride beneficiaries were raised through these rides. We are very proud to continue this tradition. It is in this spirit that the Al Humphrey Memorial Ride has been established. We humbly thank you all for your enthusiasm and support. |
